An Australian man who jumped across a fence and reached for actress Ariana Grande has been deported and prohibited from Singapore.

Johnson Wen, aged 26, was given a sentence to nine days in prison for disrupting public order and has now been "prohibited from returning to Singapore," the country's border control told Singaporean press.

Wen pushed beyond security and charged at the performer and artist, who was attending the regional launch for Wicked: For Good on November 13. Co-star Cynthia Erivo pulled him back from Grande.

Wen has a history of causing disturbances at events and star-studded occasions, including jumping on stage at a Katy Perry performance in Sydney in this summer.

The incident caused anger in Singapore, with many claiming he of causing further distress to the star.

The singer has discussed suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder after a suicide bomb attack at her performance in the English city in spring of 2017 took the lives of 22 individuals and injured hundreds.

Throughout the court proceedings, the court heard he had attempted to intrude on the film's premiere twice, according to local news sources.

He then made a second attempt to jump the barricades. Event security intercepted him and pinned him down.

The man subsequently shared video clips expressing gratitude to the star for allowing his presence and said he was "free."

Police arrested him the following day and accused him with disorderly conduct, to which Wen pleaded guilty.

The Court Judge Christopher Goh was referenced by media reports as stating that the man sought attention, commenting that he was wrong to think he would not face any penalties.

The actress has not spoken about the incident.

Erivo discussed the situation to the press, remarking that she "only aimed to ensure my friend was secure."

"I think he had no intention to us danger, but you cannot be certain with these incidents, and I aimed to make sure that she was OK. That was my first instinct," she stated.
