Week six of the 2025 NFL season

Real-time updates includes live text of Sunday's games on various channels, starting with the Broncos-Jets clash at Tottenham (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Also, audio coverage can be heard through select stations for a separate game (from 21:00 BST).

We're in the sixth week in the football calendar , following recent discussion about the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles as a potential Super Bowl match-up, they both surrendered their perfect starts.

Striking during those contests were the number of penalties both committed. Philadelphia committed them in key moments meaning they essentially defeated themselves having led by two touchdowns entering the fourth period versus the Denver Broncos, set to play overseas this Sunday.

However it proved good to see that Denver's QB the rookie managed to have that deficit and then direct three scoring drives on three possessions during the final period, to win the victory 21-17.

Denver boast the defensive player of the year with cornerback Pat Surtain II. They rank first in red zone defence, while Philadelphia lead the league in scoring near the end zone, yet the Broncos prevailed in that battle.

They had effective strategies regarding disguised blitzes. They did not necessarily sending more than four defenders but they might position two LBs in the 'A' gap then drop them out and send a nickel off the edge.

At the start in the campaign, we said during a show how Denver could be the current year's surprise contenders. They finished last season well then excelled in continuing that momentum.

Are the Denver Broncos this year's underdog story?

Recently acquired TE Evan Engram has stepped up big and new RB their rusher is a guy the team trusts. He's currently 5th league-wide in ground gains (402) as well as tied-fourth for rushing touchdowns (4).

It's impressive how head coach Sean Payton displays "RUN IT!" prominently of his playcall sheet.

This demonstrates how Denver are a squad aiming to run first, because you can achieve much off the back of that. It slows down the pass rush and maintains in positive situations.

This has helped quarterback the young passer, who came into the league as the 12th overall draft pick in the prior draft, passing for 29 touchdown passes – just behind a star QB in rookie records (31 in 2020).

Josh Allen and Herbert possess powerful arms to pass anywhere, however they don't move in the same way that Nix has. He boasts incredible arm talent, which is different, plus he's highly agile.

His strengths include his movement, being able to throw on the run, and using different arm angles to deliver throws when he rolls out of the pocket, the bootlegs. He is able to deliver precision throws over the middle or past defenders.

As a rookie QB, at 25, he displays a lot of poise in the pocket and isn't really fazed by the blitz. He aims to evade being tackled as much as possible and can pass under pressure. He has a high football IQ and remains very decisive.

When you consistently run the ball it consumes time and forces the defence to stay in play extended periods, and when you've got a mobile QB the defense must defend the area vertically and horizontally. It can be draining.

The quarterback has bitten back at Payton on the sideline sometimes and I think Payton likes that fire, that he's such a competitor. I think it's exciting for the coach to coach a young quarterback that is kind of like moldable clay. He can really develop him the way he desires to build it. I believe it's a unique opportunity for him.

Payton has won a championship and has surpassed Bill Parcells in all-time victories (173, tying for 14th). He has witnessed it all. In my opinion the success the Broncos are having offensively is mostly due to his leadership, his play-calling, his situational awareness – and the pairing with Nix helps make him into who he is.

There's no better a better guy in your ear, to assist you through difficult moments and build self-belief.

I have faith in Denver's defence, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. Yet is the team strong enough to face a top squad at its best? Since that wasn't a Super Bowl performance by the Eagles in their last game.

Right now, I don't think Denver are incredible. They're working better than most, that's a good place to be in their division. The key to do to continue this path.

They excel at embracing their strength, which is running the ball, and that's exactly what they must do versus the New York Jets at Tottenham. It's going to be a Dobbins-focused game, in essence.

New York have surrendered 140 yards on the ground per game (sixth worst), five rushing touchdowns so far (in the bottom ten), and they are the only team without a win a game.

Ever since the league began tracking takeaways decades ago, this team are also the first team to go without a single takeaway in five outings, this is kind of shocking considering that the head coach was previously a defensive coach with another team.

Patrick Mahomes stated the Chiefs are off to a poor start following Monday's defeat by the Jaguars.

Following the upcoming matchup, Denver face a manageable slate until their break (in week twelve) - the Giants, Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans and Las Vegas Raiders prior to the Chiefs.

Looking at the AFC West, the Chiefs are 2-3 and the Broncos are tied with the Chargers on 3-2 meaning they could make a run for the top of the West.

It depends upon what version of the Chiefs they face since the Broncos {beat|def
