The Serious Allegations The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of dozens of sexual offences – some of which involve acts against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021. A senior prosecutor commented, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to support a detailed and complex investigation, carefully reviewing the available evidence to establish that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.” Scope of the Police Inquiry These allegations follow what investigators called a “detailed inquiry” into alleged sexual offences at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley. Spencer is due to appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th. Breakdown of Offences Prosecutors said the 45 sexual offences comprise: 15 counts of sexual assault. 17 counts of assault by penetration. Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13. 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration. One count of attempting to assault by penetration.
